________________________________________________________________________________________ Lords
Group Trading
The majority family shareholders who established Lords have a long-standing history of charitable giving. Building on this legacy, the company established The Lords Group Foundation in 2021 and has committed to donating £ 200,000 per year to the foundation.
The business recognises that as a local leader in its markets, it has the responsibility of giving back to and supporting the local communities where it trades. The Lords Group Foundation therefore focuses support on making meaningful contributions to community projects that are local to its businesses and particularly welcomes applications from local community centres, as these much used and needed community hubs often have a lack of funding.
Additionally, Environmental, Social, and Governance( ESG) strategy is an important focus for Lords. Its strategy focuses on working towards Net Zero, making the company the best place to work and positioning itself at the heart of its communities, as well as ensuring ESG is central to the wider business strategy.
ESG goals
To accomplish these goals, Lords strives to reduce the volume of waste created and improve recycling rates, as well as reduce Scope 1 and 2 energy use and increase its capacity for renewable energy generation across the group. The company works with its suppliers and partners within the industry to ensure that the negative environmental and social impact of the supply chain is continually monitored and incrementally reduced.
The group is implementing initiatives to address its environmental impacts, in particular, by reducing energy consumption and the associated carbon emissions. In the Plumbing and Heating division, all forklift trucks are electric, and diesel forklifts are continually being replaced by electric vehicles in the merchanting division. The Plumbing and Heating division is also offering low-carbon products, such as air source heat pumps and electric boilers, to help customers improve their environmental performance and contribute to the UK’ s decarbonisation goals. Lords is committed to conducting business with integrity, treating people with dignity, and protecting the environment. Looking to the future, the company wants its people, and the people in its supply chain, to work safely, look after one another and be part of a supply chain that continues to grow responsibly. ■
