Among Triton’ s recent community-focused projects and following on from the successful completion of Base 71 Youth Zone in Barnsley is the delivery of Vault Youth Zone in Preston city centre, an £ 8.7 million purpose-built facility developed in partnership with OnSide Youth Zones and Preston City Council. The threestorey centre provides a safe and inspiring space for young people, featuring sports, fitness, arts, wellbeing and training facilities. Delivered over 61 weeks, the project overcame challenging site constraints and now supports thousands of young people each year, creating lasting social value across the region.
Another standout project is the delivery of Temple Newsam Home Farm for Leeds City College, a specialist further education facility designed and constructed to Passivhaus standards. Developed in collaboration with the client and wider design team, the scheme demonstrates Triton’ s ability to translate ambitious low-carbon design principles into a high-performing, operational building. The project adopted a fabric-first approach, prioritising energy efficiency through high levels of insulation, airtight construction, minimised thermal bridging and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Triton worked closely with the architect, consultants, Passivhaus specialists and subcontractors to ensure the design intent was maintained throughout construction, recognising that even minor on-site changes could affect the building’ s performance.
