Levenseat ’ s recycling expertise includes mixed waste recycling and aggregate recovery . From its own Container Materials Recycling Facility , the business uses a dual stream recycling process designed to maximise recovery of high-quality materials by efficiently sorting mixed household containers . Some of the materials recovered during this process include mixed plastics , Tetra Pak , glass , steel and aluminium . This service is highly beneficial in helping local authorities to deliver on their commitment to the Household Recycling Charter whilst at the same time reducing costs and maximising the value of recyclates .
In terms of aggregate recovery , Levenseat has a dedicated screening and washing plant designed to recover and clean aggregate products from waste . Materials which have been processed by the wash plant will contain a significant aggregate fraction which can be recovered for re-use . The company has the capacity and expertise to recover good quality aggregate from a range of difficult wastes including gully waste , construction and demolition waste and contaminated soils . The water used during this process is all recycled and the graded sand , washed gravel and silt fraction produced within the plant are sold to market in a pressed cake form or used in the production of Levenseat ’ s Lev-co block products , enabling a very high level of recovery and reuse .
