CR Construction( U. K.) _______________________________________________________________________________________
Next up: impact. CR Construction is always looking to make positive changes. Whether that’ s constructing new homes, or creating new professional pathways for its team, the company and its people are dedicated to inspiring innovation and making a difference wherever possible.
The fourth and final value is change. CR Construction understands that change is inevitable and strives to always respond positively to the ever-fluctuating demands of the market. As the company website asserts:“ We champion necessary change through our consulting and campaigning and strive to model the flexibility and tolerance change demands.”
Spotlight project
These values bind CR Construction together, as it moves into its sixth year in business. Today, the company is headed up by Chairman Kai Shen. As a first-class registered construction expert, with specialist expertise in complex construction and engineering, Mr. Shen is recognized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’ s Republic of China. He’ s supported by Project Director, Shane Kelly, who has over 20 years’ experience working as an architect, developer, and main contractor.
Shane has managed schemes of up to £ 125 million, across a variety of roles. His diverse experience, spanning everything from research and development to design and technical management, means he’ s equipped to take on any challenge. Together, alongside a powerhouse team of executives and managers, the pair have brought several exciting projects to life across the nation and levelled up CR Construction’ s UK operation.
One such spotlight project is Talbot Mill, in the Castlefield area of Manchester. This development consists of 190 residential units, as well as a public realm and amenity block works. The three residential blocks include two mill refurbishments, using old industrial spaces to cultivate luxury contemporary living. Alongside this, the project includes a ten-storey new build. On track for completion in early 2026, the finished site will be home to a range of two-tothree bed apartments. The site has been derelict for some years, and CR Construction is breathing new life into it. The project is critical to the regeneration of the local area, which will provide convenient housing for Manchester’ s growing population of young professionals.
The project looks to bring Castlefield into the future, while paying homage to the past. The Talbot Mill itself holds historical significance in Manchester, playing a pivotal role during the industrial revolution. It was a haven for young working people, and now, over 100 years later, the site will once again be home to the next generation of up-and-comers.
As the company completes its work on Talbot Mill, it pays careful attention to the history of the location. The people behind the project take great pride in the act of renewal, and there’ s no doubt that this project will become another proud addition to CR Construction’ s ever-growing portfolio.
It’ s clear that CR Construction can offer something unique. Its culturally diverse team of senior leaders is supported by the board of directors in Hong Kong, providing centralized support for the UK operation. Combining its international influence with a depth of experience in the UK market, CR Construction benefits from the best of both worlds.
As experts in a range of methodologies, ranging from historical renovations to modern high-rise developments, the company is a testament to the power of diversity, whichever form it takes. From day one, the company has expanded rapidly, bringing together colleagues, cultures, and industry expertise. As it forges ahead, CR Construction will no doubt continue to thrive through inclusion, dedication, and service. ■
