Originally built in 1912, the milk factory was once the heart of the local dairy industry. We were tasked with carefully dismantling the existing chimney structure and rebuilding it to its original standard using traditional methods to form a central internal and external focal point for the new restaurant.”

Churchill’ s LPE division focuses on the design, supply, installation, test, inspection, and maintenance of lightning protection systems, isolated lightning protection systems, specialist electrical earthing, and surge protection.“ As one of the few‘ go to’ lightning protection and earthing specialists capable of delivering major electrical earthing projects, we’ ve worked on several energy-from-waste new build power generation projects,” Richard explains.“ We’ re currently working on two of the latest high-profile projects in the Midlands and Southeast as part of the civils package for these vital environmentally friendly, new build power generation plants. Working closely with the earthing designers and the client’ s technical team, these critical and complex earthing systems ensure the safe dissipation to earth of dangerous fault currents, allowing the timely operation of isolating safety devices.
“ Isolated lightning protection systems are used to protect hazardous areas in anaerobic digestion, petrochemical and power generation sites, and are one of our specialisms. Working closely with organisations like Dehn UK, we install complex systems using huge standalone air terminals, or specially insulated HVI conductors, with the aim of preventing a harmful lightning discharge connecting directly with a structure which contains explosive or sensitive material.”
